The automotive branch consists of a core field (producers of original parts, car bodies, constructional systems and trailers) and the suppliers.
According to the branch network „automotive BerlinBrandenburg“ (aBB), more than 160 companies with more than 9,000 employees have set up in this region.
The branch is marked by medium-sized enterprises and includes only few major companies. Focus locations are Ludwigsfelde (Daimler-Chrysler, Thyssen-Krupp), Brandenburg/Havel (ZF) and Fürstenwalde (Pneumant).
