Brandenburg’s Solar Region
There is scarcely a region in Germany that has undergone quite such a dynamic structural development in recent years as Oderland-Spree, having blossomed into the heartland of Germany’s solar industry. Global players from the sector, suppliers and innovative regional companies form a tight value-added chain in the region.
East Brandenburg is the gateway to Poland. The two districts of Märkisch-Oderland and Oder-Spree, as well as the town of Frankfurt/Oder, form the bridgehead for the Eastern European markets. The region’s infrastructure is excellent as it includes: the E30 trans-European route that runs from the Atlantic ports, through Germany and Poland to Minsk and Moscow; the ParisMoscow rail route; and the future Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport (BBI) as well as the surrounding airport region.
Most of all, key technologies are present in Eastern Brandenburg: automotive industry, food industry, logistics, media/information and communication technology, metal production/metal processing, aeronautics.
Last but not least, the Oder Valley is a countryside that offers an exceptional quality of life, while numerous historical sights invite tourists to come and explore Eastern Brandenburg.
